Last day!

Day thirty!!

Last day. Now comes bigger and better things. I need to finish the table top. Very excited about that. I'll be gluing and clamping it up tomorrow.

Day twenty-nine!

One more day!! I hate to say it, but I'm probably going to try to breeze through it in light of larger projects to come. I'm also still deciding if I'll continue to post on here or create a dedicated site. Decisions, decisions...

Anyway, Today I used a piece of cork and inlayed a piece of aluminium. I want to try to start using these materials to create animal shapes. Birds and whales and such. I've got a few promising ideas.

Metal laminated.

Day twenty-eight.

A piece of alu-mini-um laminated between a piece of wood that I had laminated earlier last week. The piece of aluminium protrudes from the top a tad for the hanger.

Bamboo.

Day twenty-seven.

Bamboo veneer was laminated to make this piece. The texture of bamboo end grain is wonderful. Similar to a cheetah. Terrific!

Day twenty-six.

Proportions here are a little off here but these three are brick cut and painted then coated in resin to harden the outside. I would like to apply a bit more paint when I'm working on this stuff. I suppose not everything I've made would lend well to paint. I can't believe only four days left!

Acrylic inlay..

Day twenty-five.

I laminated acrylic into the center of wood. Nice clean retro look. I really have a soft spot for this red orange color.
